The Jersey City Craft Mafia is hosting a Cartooning Class being taught by two local Jersey City artists: Katherine Ramos and Chris Maguire.
The class will cover the basics of cartooning, including technique, style, layout, and narrative. This will be a great introduction to anyone who has ever been curious about making their own narrative images, but didn't know where to start.
We will provide students with basic materials, ie. paper, pencils, pens.
Students will walk away with a completed 3-panel comic, along with (hopefully) the confidence and knowledge to create more
About the instructors:
Katherine Ramos is a Jersey City illustrator. Hailing from the decadent shores of California, she was drawn eastward for erudition and moral edification. She specializes in Ink Pens and Ink Pen-related activites. You can see some of her work at www.katherineisthebest.com.
Chris Maguire is a Jersey City Cartoonist and web developer who maintains a webcomic at www.hypercombofinish.com . Being unable to seperate technology from the rest of his life, he does most of his drawing at the pixel-sized level.
